The City will evaluate over time whether to implement pay to park in downtown Longmont.

In an effort to meet a number of goals, 1) reduce the area for parking/car storage, 2) increase car-free areas/streets, eliminate paved/impervious surfaces, 3) encourage alternative modes, and 4) ultimately reduce greenhouse gas production.

Description

The Longmont Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) has monitored the utilization of the Longmont Parking system in 2016, 2019 and 2022. The results can be found on the LDDA's webpage.

Also as part of this work, the LDDA and City Council met to discuss pedestrian improvements within downtown Longmont. Realizing that everyone is a pedestrian at some point in the journey, these investments are essential as we investigate parking options.
