Continue with design and construction of crossing improvements in order to implement railroad quiet zones in the old town area and other areas in the city.

Safety improvements at three crossings have been constructed. Staff continues to work on crossing designs for five additional crossings with the intent to take those crossings to construction later this year. The plans, specifications and agreements are currently under review by BNSF, the PUC and the FRA. Construction of improvements at one previously approved crossing will begin in late winter of this year.
