Longmont’s Ice Rink and Pavilion is a seasonal outdoor full-service ice rink facility offering public ice skating, hockey, skating lessons, and private facility rentals throughout the winter, weather permitting.
February 2025:
Over 100 new rental ice skates were added to replace older pairs and increase availability. The Ice Pavilion trailer was remodeled with extra shelving to keep skates organized and easy to access.
March 2025:
The ice chiller was turned off for the season on March 11. Warranty repairs were completed on March 15 and successfully tested.
July 2025:
The glycol pump for the ice rink was permanently installed near the chiller and wired in. This upgrade will make future ice builds and tear-downs faster and more efficient by reducing the time and labor needed to move and set up the pump.
January 2024:
The 32-year-old Zamboni received several replacement parts to keep it running through the end of the season.
April 2024:
A “new-to-us” Zamboni was inspected and repaired before purchase. It arrived in Longmont on April 26.
A large electrical panel was relocated at Roosevelt Pavilion to make room for an expanded ice rink for the 2024–2025 season. Additional matting to extend the rink arrived in May.
October 2024:
On October 14, the new chiller for the rink arrived. Plumbing and electrical work were completed over the next two weeks.
November 2024:
Work continued to connect the new chiller with the existing system. A new pump was ordered to improve efficiency. The Longmont Ice Pavilion opened on November 22 with exciting upgrades:
December 2024:
On December 10, the rink received its final major upgrade—a new pump. The old pump wasn’t strong enough for the new chiller, which caused system alarms. The new pump, along with extra glycol, has kept the system running smoothly ever since.
