Platte River continues to invest in renewable energy generation; however, starting in 2025 and going through 2029, the percent of renewable energy delivered to owner communities has decreased because Platte River is selling renewable energy certificates (RECs) to the market to generate revenue that reduces customer rate pressure over the short-term without compromising Platte River’s investment in renewable energy resources.
