The Land Development Code was recently changed to eliminate minimum parking standards for the entire City. Longmont becomes the first jurisdiction in Colorado to remove all minimum parking requirements from the Code.
Description
Most of the Code work has centered on safer street configuration and specifications to allow: narrower vehicle lanes to slow traffic in neighborhoods, wider bicycle lanes with buffers, wider sidewalks everywhere. Additionally, work has been done to eliminate requiring parking minimums so developers provide a necessary amount of parking, not more than needed on a typical day.
