Delays in Federal Grant Funding have prevented completion of this action plan.
Current education efforts can be tracked in the Equitable Carbon Free Transportation Roadmap Step E.2 Transit Education and EE.1 Cultural Broker.
Additional education campaigns will be developed in the future for the new Bus Rapid Transit (2026), and Vision Zero (the goal of zero deaths on the City's transportation system) in 2025 as part of the City's Vision Zero Action Plan (to be completed in 2025- updated from 2024).
Staff were hired in 2024 to coordinate Vision Zero implementation. Currently seeking funding and identifying both key internal and external stakeholders to support the development of the City's first transportation safety plan a.k.a. the VZEAP.
Work has begun to develop a community-based Safer Speeds campaign.
Work has begun to develop a series of educational sessions that will introduce the public and staff to Vision Zero and The Safe System.
