The update to the Longmont Housing Needs Assessment is currently under way.
The City regularly monitors housing trends in order to take a data-driven approach to housing policy decisions. The City is currently updating its Housing Needs Assessment with the final draft schedule for City Council review before December 31, 2026. The update is funded by a grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs for City compliance with SB24-174 Sustainable Affordable Housing Assistance.
In 2025, the City of Longmont received a $37,500 DOLA Housing Planning Grant Program (HPLN) grant to update the existing 2023 Housing Needs Assessment to comply with new state requirements established by SB24-174. The new housing needs assessment will be complete by the end of 2026.
