Located at Kanemoto Park, this activity pool was destroyed in the September
2013 flood. It was a small aquatic facility that has heated water and a
maximum depth of 3’6”. There was a zero depth entry area, small deck
slide, waterfall, and geyser. The facility also included restrooms, space for
changing and an office area. A replacement aquatics facility will be
designed and built in 2014 as part of the flood recovery effort.
April 2024: A broken pipe was found under the bottom of Kanemoto Activity Pool. Workers dug it up and started repairs.
May 2024: The leak detection team found two broken pipes under the pool. They were dug up, fixed, and sealed just in time to fill the pool for opening. The boiler was also repaired, and new picnic tables were built for summer.
June 2024: A new underground issue was found at Kanemoto Pool and will be fixed in the fall. Early in June, a sewer line backed up and spilled into the grass around the pool.
July 2024: Interns from the City of Longmont Water Department inspected the Kanemoto pump room. It was cleaned and improved with new storage shelves to help keep things organized.
