On time

The action was started in 2019, within the initiation period, but had to be put on hold due to staff changes, the pandemic, and other priorities. It was revisited in 2023.

Sustainable purchasing refers to practices that incorporate the triple bottom line (environmental, social, and economic) into purchasing decisions, such as the reduction of packaging, supply-chain considerations, and targeted outreach opportunities for women, veteran, and other minority-owned and disadvantaged businesses. A sustainable purchasing policy will help ensure that sustainable practices are implemented across departments.
