Greywater is the water that is produced from household activities (with the exception of wastewater from the toilet). Greywater systems allow for the reuse of this water, but must meet minimum design and construction standards.

Description

A statewide strategy is being reviewed for inclusion in the South Platte Basin Implementation Plan as part of the Colorado Water Plan Update. Longmont continues to re-use the majority of its legally available greywater through the Wastewater Treatment Plant. It is not currently recommended that a greywater reuse program be set up in Longmont. Longmont will continue to monitor Boulder County Health as they develop a model greywater program to determine if this might be a possibility for Longmont in the future.
