Lead paragraph

The City has historically replaced 1 – 2 miles of pipe a year. Starting in 2025, the City plans to replace 3 to 4 miles per year and gradually increase the rate of replacement to 5 to 6 miles per year, with the target of replacing all cast iron pipe within the next 20 years. Longmont conducts pressure testing on some main transmission lines and performs SCADA flow metering throughout each zone in the City to identify potential leaks
