Received direction from the CMO to restart the finalization of the Standards in association with Urban Neighborhood design guide. Anticipate adoption of Standards in 2024. Floodplain Regulations are on track to be presented to City Council for Adoption this year.

Update Public Improvement Design Standards and Construction Specifications to implement Resilient Design Performance Standards to ensure existing and new infrastructure is able to withstand a greater degree of stress or damage from natural disasters.

Description

The Design Standards are under review and the latest draft includes Urban Neighborhood Design. In addition to the Design Standards, Public Works is updating the Floodplain regulations (LMC Title 20) to limit construction in floodplains and floodways as well as implementing an update to the Storm Drainage Criteria Manual in alignment with this goal.
