Explore opportunities to offer training for young people entering the workforce, older adults and/or persons with disabilities through existing economic development organizations (or other groups) in Longmont.

Description

The City and the other partners that make up the Advance Longmont Ecosystem (ALE) continue to prioritize workforce development for all members of the community. The St Vrain Valley School District, Front Range Community College, and Workforce Boulder County have taken the lead on workforce development and training; this is an ongoing action that will continue to be supported by ALE. One recent initiative to highlight the work being done in this area is the launch of the Trojan TECH program in 2023. This is the newest P-TECH program from the SVVSD and is being directly supported by several ALE partners, including the LEDP, the Chamber, the Latino Chamber, the DDA, and the City. This program focuses on business and allows students to earn an associate degree from Front Range Community College during high school.
