On hold

While a position has not been created to develop a Green Business Employer Council (GBEC), city staff participate in substantial local, regional, and statewide efforts related to green workforce development. Given these broad, coordinated workforce development efforts, it is important the City coordinates with and complements existing efforts rather than independently implement a new workforce development solution or program.

Lead paragraph

The Climate Action Task Force recommended that the City of Longmont hire a staff person to develop a Green Business Employer Council (GBEC) to provide efficient oversight for the development of a coordinated energy workforce development program to train community members for employment in the green energy sector.

Description

This action is on hold, please see Action 5 of the City’s Beneficial Building Electrification Plan on Workforce Outreach and Development for more information on the City’s efforts.
