Workforce and market readiness are complementary - both are needed and must grow in parallel for a successful transition away from gas in buildings. With a supportive and engaged workforce, home and building owners will have greater access to the resources to install new equipment. And, as the City implements the other electrification strategies included in this action plan, the demand for services will grow.

Description
Efforts underway include coordination with local and regional partners, including the Front Range Beneficial Electrification Network, Front Range Community College and Workforce Boulder County, around training/workforce development that educates and increases labor force capacity to support building electrification. LPC and Platte River's Efficiency Works also are allocating additional resources for contractor training, including scholarships for certifications and continuing education. And to encourage more contractors to get up to speed on heat pump installations, Efficiency Works also offers contractors incentives for these installations.
