Commercial building energy efficiency may be improved through a variety of equipment retrofits or operational changes. In many cases, these improvements can also enhance comfort in a facility’s work environment and extend the service life of equipment. This Sustainability Plan strategy has been combined with Climate Action Recommendation Report strategy BE.4: Commercial Efficiency and Resources which called to expand the Efficiency Works Commercial program to achieve commercial energy savings of 2% per year by 2025 (previously 1% per year).

Description

Through Efficiency Works Business (managed by Platte River Power Authority in partnership with Longmont Power & Communications,) City commercial customers can receive a free efficiency assessment, free efficiency advising, and rebates to support retrofits and operational changes intended to improve building efficiency.
