A building performance standard provides an energy baseline that existing buildings must achieve to meet a threshold of energy performance while allowing the building developer and/or owner flexibility in how they achieve it. A building performance standard is an option to more aggressive building code amendments in the near term and may align with Colorado state benchmarking performance requirements in 2026.

Description

Longmont supports Building Performance Colorado, Colorado’s statewide benchmarking and performance standards program for buildings 50,000 square feet and larger, and is coordinating with Platte River's Efficiency Works to develop resources to help building owners achieve building performance standards through energy efficiency and electrification.
