Community members routinely suggest improvements to expand or refine transit service in Longmont, such as extended hours to certain destinations (e.g., evening service to Front Range Community College), new routes to serve high-demand areas, and commuter rail. While Longmont is not the transit service provider, this strategy focuses on coordination with the Regional Transportation District (RTD) to better understand needs and prioritize service improvements.

The microtransit partnership program has started and is intended to operate as a pilot program for 3 years, with an option to continue after that initial contract length. RTD will increase the service levels on the local and regional transit in Longmont over the next 2 years to reach the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) levels envisioned with the CO 119 BRT project.
Description
The City is currently partnering with RTD to create a new "microtransit" service for the entire City/planning area to fill in the gaps with quick, reliable on-demand service for all.
