This strategy is for the City of Longmont to continue to incorporate more efficient and alternative fuel vehicles into its fleet, develop supporting infrastructure, and model the way for other large institutions and the public to transition to these vehicles over time.

We have completed the plan and are in implementation of both EV infrastructure and EV vehicle ordering.
Description
After the GoEV Resolution passed in 2021, staff established a target of 25% alternative fuel (hybrid, electric, renewable natural gas) fleet vehicles by 2025. Despite manufacturing delays, in 2022 staff ordered four electric pick-up trucks and 34 replacement hybrid police vehicles to help reach this goal. Although the order was cancelled due to manufacturing issues, we have continued to acquire hybrid police vehicles from other states to essentially fill the order. In 2023, 5 additional EV vehicle replacements were ordered and we are planning for additional ones in 2024.
