The City continues to connect and discover, through the new TMP effort, missing links in Longmont. The most recent example is the completion of the 17th Ave sidepath between Gay St and Hover St.
Identification of missing links is being completed as part of the Transportation Mobility Plan (TMP) update.
Work began in 2024 for construction of safety and mobility projects along Colorado Highway 119, also known as the Diagonal Highway. The final element of this project is a complete reconstruction of the CO 119/Hover St intersection. Construction of the new intersection is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2026, and will include the construction of a new bridge for Boulder-bound CO 119 traffic that passes above Hover Street, as well as improvements at ground level for people traveling by bicycle or on foot. In addition this project will connect the Longmont bicycle network to the newly constructed CO 119 bikeway, and also provide transit improvements for the upcoming CO 119 Bus Rapid Transit routes operated by RTD.
A Pedestrian Priority Index (PPI) has been determined and included in the TMP which prioritize investments for completing missing sidewalk/curb ramp gaps and upgrading deficient sidewalks/curb ramps.
Deficient sidewalk segments and curb ramps have been upgraded along the north side of 17th Avenue from Lincoln Street to Cook Court.
