The City continues to work on this item through the newer Transportation Mobility Plan (TMP) effort as an extension to the original MMTP and MTIP.
The City is currently pursuing new transit systems through the Bus Rapid Transit improvements on the Colorado State highway (CO) 119 corridor which will travel on Hover, Ken Pratt Blvd (CO 119) and Main Street (US 287). This new service, set to start in 2027, also includes reconfigured and new local transit routes, a new mobility/transit hub at 1st/Main, and a new multimodal corridor to bypass buses and people on bicycles (on Coffman Street) away from Main Street, but still within the Main Street corridor.
The City entered into an agreement with Lamar Advertising in July of 2025 to provide transit furniture along the first four Coffman Street BRT stops located at 1st and Coffman Street and 8th and Coffman Street in exchange for an allowance to advertise on public information displays which will also provide real-time transit information at the Coffman BRT stops.
The City is also using State and federal grants to expand the off-street trail system in almost every area of the City, including (but not limited to) Hover/Ken Pratt, Sunset/Ken Pratt, 21st/Main, East County Line Rd/Weld County Road(WCR) 1, WCR 26, CO 66.
See below for tasks and related actions. Progress on addressing missing sidewalks is tracked on Envision Longmont action 2.4 Missing Links. Much of this work will be rolled into the updated Transportation Mobility Plan (TMP) set to be completed in late 2024/early 2025.
