In 2024, the City was awarded a grant from the Colorado Energy Office to implement a regional e-bike share program. City staff are currently working with partner agencies on implementing this program. Due to IGA amendments, it is estimated that the program will now launch Q2-Q3 2026.
In 2025, the City of Longmont worked closely with partner jurisdictions to select a qualified bikeshare vendor through a request for proposal (RFP) process. As of the end of 2025, the partners are currently finalizing a vendor contract with the goal of having bikes on the ground by Summer 2026.
From 2023 - 2024, the City of Longmont participated in a regional bikeshare system study led by Commuting Solutions Transportation Management Organization. The study analyzed the feasibility of expanding electric bikeshare across Boulder, City and County of Broomfield, Boulder County, Erie, Lafayette, Longmont, Louisville, Superior and Westminster.
The City of Longmont, in collaboration with Commuting Solutions, Boulder County, Superior, Broomfield, Westminster, and Lafayette was awarded a $1.5 million grant through the Colorado Energy Office Community Accelerated Mobility Project in order to implement the recommendations outlined in the Regional Bikeshare Feasibility Study.
